Utah restaurants recognized in new MICHELIN Guide
MICHELIN Guide has announced its Utah selections for its new American Southwest guide. The new regional guide covers Utah and its partners Arizona, Nevada and New Mexico. South Salt Lake’s Monte, chef Martín Babio's intimate tasting-menu room inside Beehive Distillery, took home the only MICHELIN Star awarded in the four-state region outside Las Vegas. Bib Gourmand honours went to Feldman’s Deli, One More Noodle House, while Phở 777, and Koyoté and Star of India are MICHELIN Recommended, all located in Salt Lake. Three Park City restaurants are also MICHELIN Recommended: Handle, Matilda and The Nelson Cottage by High West. Collectively these restaurants showcase the diversity of Utah as one of the most exciting new places to dine in the U.S.
Tickets now available for Temple open house
Tickets for the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to tour the iconic Salt Lake Temple– considered the global headquarters of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints – are now available on a first come, first served basis at www.templesquare.org. The temple has been undergoing a multi-year seismic renovation which will be completed next year with the public open house scheduled from April 5-October 1, 2027. The temple has not been open to the public since the 1890s and is expected to draw daily crowds of over 20,000 visitors from around the world before it is rededicated and sealed. Walking tours of the temple and surrounding buildings on Temple Square will be offered daily, Monday-Saturday 9am-9pm and Sunday 12-8pm. Tours will be free, but all visitors must have a ticket.
New SLC Airport on its final approach
From the groundbreaking in summer 2014 to its completion in fall 2026, Utah’s New SLC Airport will open its fourth and final phase on October 27, 2026. Over more than a decade, Utah has built an airport that reflects the beauty and soul of the state, and this final phase will include the last four gates, six concessions and a new installation by artist Gordon Huether titled "Gateway to the World." The New SLC has welcomed four new airlines and numerous new domestic and international destinations, and has already been recognized as one of the “Best Airports in North America at Departures” by size and region (25 to 40 million annual passengers), “Most Enjoyable Airport in North America” and the “Cleanest Airport in North America" by the 2025 ASQ Customer Experience Awards.
New museum shares Utah’s story
The Museum of Utah has opened in the State Capitol in Salt Lake City serving as a flagship for Utah’s cultural heritage. Free and open to the public, the museum invites visitors to engage with artifacts and stories that define the Beehive State through world-class exhibits and community-focused spaces. The opening of the museum is the culmination of the State Capitol Complex Project, an ambitious vision for the Capitol grounds that has been decades in the making. With over 900 objects on display, the collection ranges from the state’s first official flag to items of pop-culture significance, including Marty McFly’s cowboy outfit worn by Michael J. Fox in “Back to the Future III,” filmed partially in Utah to the Duesenberg Special race car which set a land speed record on Utah’s Bonneville Salt Flats in 1940 that went unrivaled for 50 years.
