Fat Bear Week 2026 is officially underway at Katmai National Park & Preserve, with 16 very well-fed brown bears going head-to-head for the coveted Fat Bear crown. And you get to vote!
Voting runs 22–29 September, with bear fans around the world choosing which furry heavyweight advances through each round until the Fat Bear Week 2026 Champion is crowned. And when we say worldwide, we mean it. Last year Fat Bear Week attracted more than 1.7 million votes from over 100 countries.

Want to do some important “research” before casting your vote? Tune into the live cameras from Katmai National Park, including the famous Brooks Falls Bear Cam, where you can watch Alaska’s brown bears fishing for salmon, snoozing, squabbling and generally living their best bear lives.
