MICHELIN Guide awards Nevada restaurants
MICHELIN Guide has announced its Nevada selections for its new MICHELIN Guide Southwest. For the first time in over 15 years, MICHELIN returns to the state with a new regional guide that includes Nevada and its partners Arizona, New Mexico and Utah. Nevada restaurants earned 24 distinctions affirming Las Vegas’ position among the world’s great dining capitals. Two MICHELIN stars were awarded to Restaurant de Joël Robuchon; and one MICHELIN star to Restaurant Guy Savoy, é by José Andrés, and L'Atelier de Joël Robuchon Las Vegas. Also, an incredibly exciting honour: an array of restaurants located off the Strip and in Downtown Las Vegas received Bib Gourmand and MICHELIN Recommended designations.
Great Basin National Park re-opens longest cave system in Nevada
Public tours of Great Basin National Park’s Lehman Caves – located 4.5 hours north of Las Vegas on Travel Nevada’s Great Basin Highway road trip – have resumed following a $5.8 million USD enhancement of its infrastructure. Touring Lehman Caves, the longest cave system in Nevada, has been a favorite activity of visitors to the state since 1885. Visitors will now experience Lehman Caves in a whole new light with improved visibility and efficiency, all while reducing disturbance to the cave’s fragile ecosystem. Lehman Caves is open year-round, but only available to enter on a park ranger-led guided tour. Advance reservations and more information can be found at www.recreation.gov.
Ride the rails! Nevada State Railroad Museum celebrates 35 years
On September 19, 2026, The Nevada State Railroad Museum, Boulder City – located 30 minutes east of Las Vegas on Travel Nevada’s Neon to Nature road trip – will celebrate its 35th anniversary with the opening of a new visitor centre. The $25 million USD addition includes over 350 square metres of new exhibit space to explore the vital role railroads have played throughout Nevada's history, including the construction of the Hoover Dam. The new centre builds on the museum’s open-air pavilion and popular rail bike tours, which allow visitors to use pedal-powered vehicles to ride directly on Boulder City’s historic railroad tracks.
