Pack your sense of adventure & experience Salt Lake City - where the Wasatch mountain peaks frame city streets and where four legendary ski resorts are a short 30 minute drive from downtown.

When you’re ready to head West of Conventional, rest assured that getting here is a snap, thanks to easy access by road, rail and air … after all, they don’t call Salt Lake the “Crossroads of the West” for nothing!

Salt Lake City International Airport is a short 10-minute drive from downtown. Flights are available from across Canada with Westjet/Delta, Air Canada/United & Porter/AA.

Make Salt Lake your base camp this winter to set off for the adventure your spirit needs. Of course, downhill skiing and snowboarding are a given. But why not give in to the simple pleasures of ice skating, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing or snowshoeing? Out here, the action’s outdoors. And that’s the beauty of a Salt Lake winter escape.

Enjoy time on the slopes at our four world-class ski resorts with one pass & no blackout dates.  The Salt Lake Ski Super Pass is winters best friend!  The discounted lift ticket can be enjoyed at Alta, Brighton, Snowbird and Solitude and includes FREE public transit fares and exclusive rental shop discounts.

For all our staunch hockey fanatics, have you heard the exciting news?!  The National Hockey League has recently announced that Salt Lake City will be host to the  18th Annual NHL Winter Classic being held at Rice-Eccles Stadium, the football stadium on the campus of the University of Utah marking a major NHL event for the state and capitalizing on our region’s winter sports audience. The outdoor game between our very own Utah Mammoth & the Colorado Avalanche is expected to draw national attention and significant visitor interest.  With an outdoor seating capacity of 51,000, it’s never too early to start planning!  We’ll share the date as soon as the new season’s schedule is released in the coming months. And yes, there will be hot-cocoa and beer!

We’ve partnered with local attractions, restaurants, and retailers, to offer a collection of discounts and savings with a FREE, mobile-friendly passport.  Once registered, access to our “Deals and Discounts” will be delivered instantly to your phone. Be sure to check back regularly for new offers added and save as you go.

And just around the corner (it’ll be here before you know it!), Salt Lake City will once again be hosting the Winter Olympics.  How exciting!  Cheer on our Canadian competitors including figure skating (remember Jamie Salé & David Pelletier?!) & short track speed skating which will be held at the Maverik Center with facility enhancements & upgrades in the works to better serve the Olympic events.

Speaking of the Olympics, we are super excited to see Utah Mammoth players well represented in ice hockey at the Milano-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics with four players across multiple national teams. Forward Clayton Keller was selected for Team USA, while JJ Peterka (Team Germany), Olli Määttä (Team Finland) and Karel Vejmelka (Team Czechia) will compete for their respective countries. The Olympics run from February 6-22 with NHL players participating in the games for the first time since 2014.

But that's just one season's story here in Salt Lake City …

Summer brings families hiking through wildflower meadows before cooling off at a Utah Jazz basketball game (a chance to watch the Toronto Raptors when in town). Autumn paints our mountain canyons in gold, perfect for morning strolls that end at local coffee shops. Spring? That's when you might spot baby bison on Antelope Island before heading to the Eccles Theater for a Broadway show.

Our soaring Wasatch Mountains rise dramatically from downtown Salt Lake, creating a place where every day offers both natural wonders and urban energy. And while we sit perfectly between the national parks with Yellowstone's geysers and Utah's red rock country, the real magic happens right here, where everyone can discover their own rhythm between mountain adventure and city life.

We hope to see you soon!
