Travel Nevada and Qantas Launch Nevada Specialist Challenge as New Sydney – Las Vegas Service Creates Fresh Opportunity for Australian Travel Trade

5 August 2026: Travel Nevada, in partnership with Qantas, has launched the Nevada Specialist Challenge, a new trade incentive designed to help Australian travel agents and front-line staff strengthen their destination knowledge and better sell Nevada to clients, as demand for USA travel continues to evolve.

The initiative invites non-specialist agents and front-line staff to complete three simple steps for the chance to win one of six unforgettable Nevada itineraries, while existing Nevada Specialists can also apply to host one of the trips.

The launch comes at an important time for the Australian travel trade, following Qantas’ announcement of their new direct seasonal Sydney–Las Vegas service, which will operate three times per week from 29 December 2026. By cutting out the need to connect through another US city, the route saves customers up to five hours of travel time, making Nevada a more accessible, compelling long-haul destination for Australian travellers.

Travel Nevada says the direct air service makes destination knowledge more important than ever, with trade professionals needing up-to-date insight to confidently position Nevada to clients seeking city breaks, road trips, outdoor adventure and immersive USA experiences.

“With Qantas’ new direct Sydney–Las Vegas service creating a major uplift in access and visibility for the destination, there has never been a better time for Australian travel agents and front-line staff to upskill on Nevada,” said Corey Marshall, Account Director, Travel Nevada. “The Nevada Specialist Challenge is designed to reward engagement, support trade education and help agents confidently convert new interest into bookings. Whether they’re new to the destination or already established Nevada Specialists, this initiative gives the trade a valuable reason to get closer to the product.”

The six itineraries available through the challenge showcase the breadth of Nevada’s appeal, from the bright lights of Las Vegas and Reno to scenic drives, outdoor landscapes and regional experiences that extend beyond the state’s best-known gateways.

Australian travel agents and front-line staff are encouraged to complete the challenge, strengthen their Nevada knowledge and enter the draw for the chance to win one of six itineraries.
