Nearly three and a half years after the host cities were announced, the field is finally set for a soccer tournament that is poised to become the biggest sporting event in the history of the world. The 2026 FIFA World Cup™ is taking its first-ever expanded 48-team tournament to 16 cities throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico. That’s 104 matches that will play across 3,500 miles over 39 days.
In just a few short months, the Pacific Northwest embarks on a once-in-a-lifetime journey as two of the region’s most iconic cities, namely Seattle, WA and Vancouver, BC play host to the world’s biggest sporting event & we happen to be conveniently located right in the middle of all the glorious action.
Both great cities are just a hop, skip & a jump from Snohomish County. Whether arriving by car, plane, train, or sea vessel access to the great outdoors is only 53kms from downtown Seattle & roughly 150kms north of the border from Vancouver, BC.
We may not be a host city, but soccer fans from around the world can plan a pitch-perfect escape to Snohomish County and discover that the best moments happen just outside the buzz of the big cities and due to our temperate climate, we are the perfect destination for family adventures and outdoor fun both during the tournament & throughout the year.

Outdoor activities are abundant in Snohomish County. Whether your jam is hiking, swimming, picnicking, rock climbing, kayaking, river rafting, fishing, or touring quaint towns ... we've got you covered with 2,000 square miles (5,200 square kms) of Pacific Northwest wonderland waiting to be explored.
Enjoy a day at the beach on Jetty Island, off the coast of Everett, while watching dozens of kite boarders race across the water. The Fan Zone at Port of Everett's Boxcar Park will be the official game-day spot & free for all ages to watch live games (June 11, 12, 18 & 19) set against the backdrop of Port Gardner Bay. The Fan Zone will feature large outdoor screens, local food trucks & waterfront dining, beer gardens & beverage vendors, pre & post entertainment, family activities, community & cultural celebrations as well as a free shuttle connecting Everett station, downtown & the park.

After the game, enjoy a round of golf on one of our public golf courses in the Salish Sea area and explore our family-friendly walking and hiking trails, many of which are also great for biking.
Like more adventure? Grab a paddle and head for one of four major river systems that offer a full range of kayaking and rafting experiences. Like the adrenaline rush? Rock climbing, skydiving and scuba diving are all options.
So, from the opening kick to the triumphant hoisting of the trophy and beyond, Snohomish County, WA is your top destination for a pitch-perfect escape to discover why the best pre & post match plays aren’t made on turf, they’re made on trails, kayaks & brewery patios. Cheers to that!
