Nevada’s Great Basin Shines as U.S. National Parks Mark America250
Nevada’s Great Basin National Park is home to the bristlecone pine, considered the oldest tree on earth, majestic Wheeler Peak at 3,981 metres high, and Lehman Caves, whose infrastructure is currently undergoing enhancement to ensure a quality underground experience, reopening Spring 2026. Nevada’s Great Basin Highway and Death Valley Rallywere curated to lead road trippers to two national parks – fitting as the country celebrates a milestone anniversary, America250, in 2026. The U.S. boasts 63 national parks, and although the entrance fee to 11 of its most popular parks will increase for foreign visitors in 2026, there are still dozens of diverse parks for Canadians to discover.

From Boardroom to Black Runs: Nevada's Winter Escape for Business Travellers
For Canadians continuing to travel to Las Vegas on business, there is an opportunity to make the most of their trip this winter. Despite its reputation for having a desert landscape, Nevada is actually the most mountainous state in the Lower 48 with over 300 mountain ranges. Nevada means “snowcapped” in Spanish, after all. Business travellers interested in packing bindings in addition to a briefcase can get out of the boardroom to ski or snowboard just 45 minutes outside of Las Vegas at Lee Canyon. The only ski resort in southern Nevada, Lee Canyon is the perfect mountain retreat to go from Neon to Nature to escape the neon lights in winter (and desert heat in summer).

Uncommon Overnighters: Nevada’s Unique Stays for 2026
“Salvaged stays” – where architectural relics have been converted into unforgettable accommodations – are on the rise according to Unpack ’26, the data-driven travel trends compiled by Expedia, Hotels.com and Vrbo. Nevada has seen this trend in practice for years, one it calls Uncommon Overnighters. With more ghost towns and mining ruins than any other state, Nevada is home to Gold Point Bed & Breakfast, where guests occupy original miners’ cabins; Silver Queen Hotel, once the local newspaper office where Mark Twain worked; and the offbeat Clown Motel, a museum that is thought to be the largest private collection of clown figurines and memorabilia under the sun where the theme “creeps” into guest rooms along with any ghosts from the cemetery located next door.
