Celebrating 40 years of The Loneliest Road in America
In 2026, Nevada will mark the 40th anniversary of The Loneliest Road in America, a moniker bestowed by Life magazine on its stretch of U.S. Route 50 for seemingly having no points of interest. Locals and travellers embraced the title and decades later the route is now one of 10 themed Nevada road trips and considered one of the most iconic road trips in the American West, fitting as the United States celebrates its 250th anniversary next year (America250). Visitors can earn road tripper cred, stamp by stamp, by following the Highway 50 Survival Guide passport program, leaving their Wi-Fi behind in search of national and state parks, ghost towns and sagebrush saloons, and an array of stargazing and outdoor adventures.

Nevada's Neon to Nature for business travellers
For Canadians travelling to Las Vegas on business right now, there is an opportunity to make the most of their trip. One of 10 themed Nevada road trips, Neon to Nature is a hub-and-spoke itinerary designed to help visitors go beyond The Strip and explore affordable activities in the surrounding area. For example, business travellers can leave their conference centres behind to discover free art installations such as Seven Magic Mountains, breathe fresh air and enjoy green space at Spring Mountain Ranch State Park(once owned by Howard Hughes) and view the Hoover Dam, which was constructed during the Great Depression and remains an engineering marvel and testament to surviving challenging conditions.

Burner Byway: Arts, Culture & the Spirit of Nevada
Since Nevada is known for its desert landscape, it is the perfect destination in which to try the emerging travel trend of “land snorkeling” – where travellers take a slow-paced, immersive approach to exploring hidden treasures that might otherwise be missed. On Nevada’s Burner Byway, one of 10 themed Nevada road trips, locals and artists keep Burning Man culture alive throughout the year allowing visitors to skip the dust, but dig deep into the state’s arts and culture scene. Experiences include art installations in Reno (sculptures from Burning Man along the Downtown Reno Riverwalk, vibrant murals in Midtown, The Generator in Sparks), bohemian and folk art in the town of Gerlach, including Guru Road and Planet X Pottery, and the off-grid spirit of stargazing in solitude in the Black Rock Desert, home to the annual Burning Man festival.
