New Arkansas River cruise brings river cruising to Oklahoma
One of the most significant new tourism developments in Oklahoma is the launch of American Cruise Lines' inaugural Arkansas River Cruise, the first river-based itinerary of its kind to connect Tulsa, Oklahoma, with other southern American destinations including Memphis and Tennessee. Introduced in November 2026, the nine-day cruise explores the Arkansas River with port calls including Catoosa and Muskogee in Oklahoma before continuing into Arkansas. The itinerary gives travellers a relaxed way to experience Oklahoma's Native American heritage, music history, river towns and cultural attractions, adding an exciting new option for cruise lovers wanting to discover America's inland waterways beyond the Mississippi.

Farm-to-plate dining celebrates Oklahoma's agricultural roots
Oklahoma’s rich agricultural tradition makes way for a vibrant farm-to-table food scene. Across the state, chefs are partnering with nearby farmers, ranchers and artisan producers to create menus that reflect Oklahoma's rich agricultural heritage. The movement offers travellers an authentic taste of Oklahoma while supporting local communities and producers. Book in for a farm table dinner at the Living Kitchen Farm & Dairy in Depew, or a fine-dining meal at their Tulsa restaurant outpost, The Farm Bar. While NĀTV in Broken Arrow is a farm-to-table restaurant combining traditional Native American cuisine within a modern, fine dining setting.

Raise a glass at Oklahoma's craft cocktail bars
Oklahoma's nightlife continues to flourish, with creative mixologists transforming local ingredients into standout cocktails across the state’s craft cocktail bars. Cities including Oklahoma City and Tulsa are home to sophisticated speakeasies, rooftop venues and neighbourhood favourites, including Valkyrie, who create all of their bar mixers - syrup, tinctures and juices - in-house and sourced from only local ingredients. While Power House plugs directly into Oklahoma City’s Farmer’s Market District, obtaining its raw menu ingredients and coffee from market neighbors.

Adventure awaits across Oklahoma's great outdoors
Experience Oklahoma from a different perspective, with the state offering adventure well beyond expectation. The state’s diverse terrain offers a range of heart-pounding thrills for the adrenaline-chasing traveller. Oklahoma City offers world-class whitewater rafting and kayaking at the RIVERSPORT Rapids (the chosen canoe slalom venue for the LA Olympics in 2028), or head to Little Sahara State Park to race an ATV across the sand. Lake Tenkiller is the spot for scuba enthusiasts, as home to an underwater playground where divers can swim through a sunken school bus and around multiple boat hulls with Nautical Adventures. Skydivers can book a jump with Oklahoma Skydiving or get a similar experience indoors at iFly in Oklahoma City. The state’s lakes, forests and rugged mountain ranges also provide year-round opportunities for mountain biking through extensive trail networks, rock climbing, wakeboarding, ziplining and other off-road adventures.
