Las Vegas Welcomes the PWHL:
The PWHL (Professional Women’s Hockey League) has announced its expansion to Las Vegas beginning with the 2026-27 season – no surprise from a city led by a female mayor and renowned as the Sports & Entertainment Capital of the World. The new team will share the ice with the NHL’s Vegas Golden Knights at T-Mobile Arena and practice in Henderson, both located at the south end of The Strip, a great base for Canadian hockey fans looking to give new meaning to a girls’ getaway. A stay at Green Valley Ranch is in the heart of the action and close to female chef-owned restaurants: Boom Bang Fine Foods & Cocktails (Top Chef finalist Elisa Aboumrad), Lotus of Siam (James Beard Award winner Saipin Chutima), The Black Sheep (Top Chef finalist Jamie Tran) and Honey Salt(celebrated restaurateur Elizabeth Blau).

Great Basin National Park Marks a Double Milestone:
As the United States approaches its 250th anniversary on July 4, 2026, Nevada’s Great Basin National Park turns 40 this year. This dual milestone is shaped by decades of scientific research, stewardship, and community passion, all part of a larger American story of conservation and discovery. The park features the spectacular Lehman Caves (currently undergoing infrastructure upgrades that will be completed this summer), some of the darkest skies in the U.S., and groves of ancient bristlecone pines – one of the oldest trees in the world. Travel Nevada’s Great Basin Highway (and Death Valley Rally) were curated to lead road trippers to visit two national parks – a fitting way to celebrate the country’s milestone.
